Oracle has entered into an agreement to purchase Collective Intellect, which helps organisations monitor, understand and respond to consumers’ conversations on Facebook and Twitter
The deal comes a day after Oracle's competitor Salesforce.com Inc agreed to buy Buddy Media, a social media marketing company.
This combination is expected to enable organisations to build stronger relationships with consumers through intelligent understanding of their social conversations and to respond with appropriate action and engagement.
By integrating Collective Intellect with Oracle’s Software-as-a-Service products and Social Platform, Oracle will enable marketing organisations to create more targeted marketing campaigns.
Oracle last month announced plans to buy Vitrue, a cloud-based social marketing and engagement platform, for an undisclosed price. Industry website TechCrunch said the Vitrue deal was for $300 million.
