Singapore and New Zealand leaders sign eInvoicing agreement

Monday 13th May, 2024

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on eInvoicing has been signed by New Zealand's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 15th April, 2024.

The MoA makes a commitment from both countries to collaborate on initiatives promoting the adoption of eInvoicing by businesses. Specifically, they aim to establish infrastructure supporting eInvoicing and raise awareness and capacity for its implementation.

The agreement establishes a close working relationship between Singapore's Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) and New Zealand's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).

Regular meetings with counterparts from Australia, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore are held to exchange information, discuss mutual interests, and consider initiatives promoting eInvoicing adoption in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. According to a blog from Tungsten Automation.
