Poland Amends e-invoicing Mandate Timeline

Wednesday 15th March, 2023

Poland’s Ministry of Finance has produced a proposal of postponement for its e-invoicing mandate from 1 January, 2024 to 1 July, 2024, allowing Polish VAT registered businesses an additional six months to prepare for the upcoming changes.

This comes after the European Council approved Poland’s plan to implement mandatory e-invoicing beginning January 1, 2024.

For Poland, the nationwide transition to e-invoicing required a new platform called the KSeF platform (Krajowy System e-Faktur).

The KSeF testing environment is already accepting the exchange of electronic invoices, but when the e-invoicing mandate enters into force in 2024, all taxpayers established in Poland will be required to exchange invoices via the new platform.

According to the Service of the Republic of Poland, “The implementation of KSeF will allow for the optimisation of invoice processes, document flow and invoice systems used by entrepreneurs.”
