Marks and Spencer Group plc has named Jeremy Townsend as its Interim Chief Financial Officer. Jeremy joins M&S from Rentokil Initial Plc where he held the position of Group CFO.
He has held senior financial roles at pub chain Mitchells & Butlers, Sainsbury’s and Ernst & Young along with non-Executive roles at NHS England, PZ Cussons plc and Morrisons plc.
Stuart Machin, Chief Executive Officer commented: “I am very pleased to welcome Jeremy to our leadership team. Over the last three years we have built a strong finance team, and Jeremy will be an excellent addition, bringing with him a wealth of financial leadership experience, as we accelerate our plans to reshape M&S for growth.”
Jeremy Townsend takes over from Eoin Tonge who will leave the retailer on 19th January to join AB Foods as its Financial Director.
Townsend joins M&S on 22nd November and will report into Chief Executive Officer, Stuart Machin.
