Finance Director jailed for £628,000 fraud

A finance director has been jailed for three years and four months for fraud by abuse of position at Oxford Crown Court.

He was employed as a financial director for Kokomo, a health and beauty company based in Oxfordshire, where he committed fraud in the region of £628,000.

Kokomo makes themed toiletries under licence, with Paddington Bear toothbrushes and Peppa Pig soap among their products.

The fraud took place between July 2018 and August 2019.

An investigation found that he had mismanaged the firms’ affairs during his role and the offence had a significant financial impact on Kokomo.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Carly Milward, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “The fraudulent actions committed by Cox have caused a significant and profound impact on the company and all of the staff involved.

“Cox held a position of trust which he took advantage of."
