M&S gives frontline and supply chain staff 15% pay rise

Wednesday 1st April, 2020

Marks & Spencer is to award frontline store and supply chain staff a 15% pay rise and furloughed employees will receive full pay during the coronavirus pandemic, according to Retail Week.

Starting from Monday the retailer will increase pay and the rise will remain in place until the end of May when it will be reviewed in light of government advice.

The retailer said the higher salaries were in recognition of the work staff are doing “to support their teams and the national effort to help customers access the products they need during these unprecedented times”.

M&S said, Our first priority is to support our customers and colleagues. We have one of the most loyal and committed workforces in retailing and are very grateful for the extraordinary cheerfulness and dedication they are showing in difficult times.
