GT Nexus and TradeCard have announced their plans to join forces. The companies are leaders and pioneers in cloud-based technology platforms that link companies together in commerce networks. Both provide advanced business collaboration networks to better manage physical and financial supply chain processes.

2013: The year of the Mobile Wallet?

According to research from ICM Research carried out before Christmas 2012 - the ‘Mobile Wallet’ is very unlikely to take off this year. The research reveals a short fall in consumer take-up that is due to; lack of retailer support, consumer security concerns, lack of in-store promotion and device limitations.

Government calls time on late payments

The Government has called time on the escalating problem of late payments to SMEs by warning all FTSE 350 companies that they have one month to sign up to the Prompt Payment Code or face being named and shamed. Since the start of the recession, the situation has gone from bad to worse, with some companies like Sainsbury's facing critisism by increasing their payment terms - in their case from 30 to 75 days. Others have increased theirs by considerably more.

Further council reductions call for collaboration

As reported in The Guardian, local authorities have yet again been given a tough financial settlement, a further reduction of 1.7%. Rather than looking at a reduction in frontline services, much of the savings could be made by taking a closer look at operational efficiencies - such as an improved procurement process and making better use of shared services for example.

Direct Insite lands deal with major US Grocer

In a contract valued at more than half a million dollars, Direct Insite, a US provider of cloud-based e-invoicing services for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payments automation, has been selected by a US grocery retailer for its Invoices On-Line e-invoicing AP portal.

Under the agreement, the customer will use Direct Insite’s e-invoicing AP portal to provide suppliers with self-service access to invoice and payment status. The portal will integrate directly with the customer’s ERP system.
