Not enough small firms have access to cheap finance

According to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) small firms could be missing out on cheaper finance as new figures show around two thirds (61%) of firms haven't heard of Funding for Lending (FLS).

The FSB’s survey ‘Voice of Small Business’ shows an increase in lending for the first time through FLS and while this is welcome news, the FSB believes more needs to be done for businesses to have their loan applications accepted.

Invoice fraud conviction for NHS supplier

An agent acting as a supplier for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust has been convicted of invoice fraud and jailed for 15 months. Bradford based company, UK Surgical acted as an agent for Abbott Vascular (a Netherland's based company), supplying stents for heart surgery to the NHS Trust.

Kofax lands $7.6m deal with US government
