Retailers expect 40% of future sales to be online

According to a survey of 150 UK retailers, conducted by retail consulting company Martec up to 40 percent of sales are expected to be transacted online in the future. As reported in The Paypers, data shows that online sales are forecasted to account for between 30 and 40 percent of total sales for many mass market and department stores in the future. In 2012, the average proportion of online sales has reached 7.3 percent of total sales, up from 6.3 percent during the previous year.

Barnet's outsourcing contract faces judicial review

In November last year Capita was selected as preferred bidder for Barnet Council’s £320m outsourcing contract, to provide a new support and customer service organisation (NSCSO). A trial of the offering, an "easyCouncil" no-frills model to local services is planned to go live in the spring.

RBS and NatWest launch contactless payments

Over two million RBS and NatWest customers will receive Visa contactless cards starting from April and rolling out over the next year. Visa Europe will be supplying the banks with the technology for the contactless cards.
