UK Financial services sector growth continues and optimism improves - according to survey

According to the latest CBI/PwC Financial Services Survey, the volume of business in the financial services sector grew for the eighth quarter running at well above the average pace in the three months to March. The growth is reflected in the first rise in optimism among financial services firms (+32%) in a year and an unexpected increase in employment in the sector (a balance of +19%). Outsourcing requires the right in-house skills

According to research by totaljobs.com, a lack of skills is limiting local and Central Government’s ability to manage outsourced contracts. The research was carried out after speaking to more than 100 senior managers across local and Central Government. More than 50% of the decision makers that responded highlighted the need to improve project management capabilities whilst a lack of skills was also acknowledged as a contributing factor.
